Toasted Tomatoes….
They’re dead.
Tried over the last 3 weeks to transplant the seedlings. Held them by a leaf, not stem. Was very careful not to damage the roots and very careful about potting them on. They all died. Every time.
Total disaster, never had a problem with tomatoes before. I normally have so many that some end up in the compost bin. The only thing I can think is that the temperature that I germinated them at was too high. Hmmmm.
I’ve planted some more tomato seeds. Hopefully I’ll have more luck with these, I’ll keep you posted.

Tomato A GO GO!
The tomatoes that I planted here have germinated. In fact they’ve really sprouted very tall. I’ve never had tomatoes that have done this before. This could be because it is too hot in the room or I didn’t plant the seeds deep enough. Anyway, either way these seeds are the first this year!
The bulk of the seedlings in this picture are tomatoes. The more stocky seedlings in the foreground are Gazania |
The best of these seedlings need pricking out into individual pots before they get too large and moving to somewhere a little cooler – else they’ll not fit indoors and it won’t be hot enough to put them outside.
